Jon earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in accounting from Northwood University. His professional career began with a local CPA firm in East Lansing, Michigan, where he served as an auditor for governmental and non-profit entities. He later moved into automotive manufacturing as the Controller for a company in Jackson, Michigan. Most recently, before starting Capital City Accounting & Tax, Jon was a partner and the managing member of a CPA firm in Grand Ledge, Michigan, providing a wide range of services with a focus on tax and tax planning.

Jon is dedicated to building his capacity within multiple facets of the accounting field, having gained over fifteen years of experience in the governmental, non-profit, and corporate sectors prior to founding Capital City Accounting & Tax in 2023. He strives to share his knowledge in the areas of financial, cost, tax, and accounting information systems to best support his clients' needs.
